To increase your reader base, write a catchy excerpt in ‘Excerpt’ textfield below the main editor. The potential reader makes decision to read your story by first reading the excerpt. A good excerpt should summarize the content in 140-150 characters (1.5 lines) and include relevant keyphrases.

Never duplicate your content online (posting stories online on multiple websites/blogs). It drastically brings down your reputation as author. If you wish to share your stories on your personal blog or other websites, share only a few lines (preferably excerpt or a paragraph) and provide link of your published stories.

Let your readers know more about you. Update ‘Biographical Info’ under ‘About Yourself’ in Your Profile. This will also help you build a powerful author’s page. Additionally this info is displayed at the end of every story and poem.

    Dear Chief,

I can not find any section titled ‘Excerpt’ below the main editor while I try to submit a new post.

    Please suggest.

Hi Tejas, click on ‘Screen Option’ (at right top corner) and then enable ‘Excerpt’. After enabling it, you shall see the Excerpt textfield somewhere below main text editor. Alternatively you can also write excerpt at the top of your story, clearly marking it as excerpt; we shall take care of the rest. In case you need to change the excerpt of your already published stories, you may send your request to us by email.
