I am a 78 year old retired mental health counselor. I worked with parolees and probationers for several years. I have also worked in drug treatment programs, public mental health agencies, private psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. Before becoming a counselor I was a mechanical engineer for 25 years. I have a BS in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University, and an MA in counselor education from Sam Houston State University. I have a son, a daughter, and a grandson. My wife of 40 years died from ovarian cancer 13 years ago. My Dachshund and I live in a small house near my daughter and grandson. I wrote many reports and published several technical papers and articles when I was working and I have always enjoyed writing. I find that writing fiction can be very therapeutic.
