Rare moments –

Rare moments spent together

warm emotions bind us

in a web woven by love,

we savour these stolen moments

breaths mingle as we lay close

heartbeats grow fast as reminder of

running time,

my soul burrows into a cosy corner

of your heart;

intending never to leave the secured place,

our few moments together

create a shield dissuading wayward remarks

keeping our imaginary realm a reality;

your worldly worries vaporize

as our delicate love-filled bubble

drifts above ground

floating in a sea of nostalgia,

guided by your silvery presence;

a soothing music pervades my ears

swinging my soul in a wiry hammock

and lulls me to an imaginary calm.

A Cool Moist Morning –

Fresh cool zephyr of a receding winter mixed

with soft wet breeze of a rainy morning,

tantalises my face with its feathery fingers

reminding me a day like this is rare,

whilst my heart lifts to meet the honeyed sun rays;

I see the world go by in a jiffy

spinning my  senses into a reverie

I savour this rare gift of God

enveloped in a cosy blanket ;

my furry friend nuzzling its  cold nose

wraps itself around my feet

as my hands enwrap a hot cup of  English tea.

A Savoury Experience –

As slew of spices explode my tongue

giving my taste buds a lavish treat,

brewed with bountiful portions of mother’s love

the savoury delights send my senses reeling,

feeling a relief as felt by the parched earth

when drenched by a heavy downpour,

my brain goes into a contented stupor

As my soul rises to a place in midst of earth and sky,

Oh…how I wish to remain suspended there forever;

the Oriya savouries  filled to my heart’s content,

makes my walk sedated,

forcing me seek  shade of a mango tree.
