A beautiful Wednesday morning, John, the elder brother and Jessica, the younger sister woke up for school at 5 AM in the morning. They both started studying intensely. John went for the gym in the morning because he was overweight. Jessica on the other hand was perfect and was academically gifted.
John was not that much of an intelligent boy and was in 9th grade. Jessica was in 4th grade. She reads many Sci-fi novels and John prefers geek comics.
The time was high and all the minds were very festive. The students in class were getting ready for exams. They were also discussing about the one week long carnival happening in town.
Almost none of them was in a mood to study at all. They all begged the teacher to take them on a field trip to carnival. Miss Ramsey told that she will take them only if all of them were quiet and responsible.
The day came and everyone was excited. The Teachers took the entire school to the carnival. John and Jessica met on the carnival ground and wanted to go on a ride together.
If John suggested something, Jessica normally would disagree.The same happens the other way around. But there was one thing that attracted both of them equally. It was the Mirror Maze!
The Mirror Maze
They both decided to go for it without the teacher’s knowledge. They bought the tickets with their pocket money. When they reached the entrance, they got a bit scared because it was abandoned.
Nothing seemed normal. They went in and shocked to see that the maze is covered with seaweed and climbers. There were lots of spider webs and had a foggy atmosphere. The mirrors were dusty and broken. They even found hair on the floor.
John said,”Maybe there is a ghost inside here and it has severe hair fall problem” and laughed.
“Stop it, you know i am scared of ghosts!!!”yelled Jessica.
John was moving and Jessica was right behind him holding his shirt tightly. Suddenly she heard a rustling sound and within no time she came back out of the mirror maze.
She started muttering,”How stupid is John to take his own little sister to such a scary place and making jokes about ghosts!”. Later did she realize that she was the one who left him all alone inside the maze.
She was totally scared to go back but worried a lot at the same time. She ran out seeking for help. People out there said that the maze was abandoned and is not functional anymore.
Some were talking about stories where people entered died and became ghosts. They even said that there was no point of return. Hearing all this, Jessica`s heart started pounding, because now she was more worried about her beloved brother.
The next day, their parents filed a case in police about John missing. Their mom, Lisa was worried sick about him. Jessica on the other hand was researching and inquired her mom about any such past events in John`s life.
The Hidden Truth
She found out a great truth from Lisa that John was an adopted child. He was the son of a werewolf and a human. His Father was a werewolf and mother was human. They got killed by the guards and John was left stranded in the streets. Lisa found him and took him home.
Jessica asked mom whether John had brought anything along with him. Lisa remembered taking a small piece of paper from his pocket but she could not understand a single word of it. Jessica was excited and asked her mom to show it immediately.
As soon as Jessica saw the paper, she realized that it was crypt coded and that is why Lisa ignored it. Jessica spent the whole night and finally cracked the code. It was written as ” Child of human born with a father of werewolf will have a curse sworn”. “OMG!,My brother is in grave danger”, exclaimed Jessica.
When she explained this to Police, obviously they all laughed. They even said that she was very imaginative and was first class rank!.
Family First
Jessica gathered her friends and some of John`s friends as well. They all decided to go inside the maze and look out for John. They took the help of Ghost-busters. All of them went inside with ghost glasses. There was John stuck on the mirrors on the ceiling along with ghosts.
Jessica shouted out loud,”I may not know and i do not care if he was from werewolf or human. But now he is my brother and my family. You cannot take away my family!”.
There was a loud blasting sound and all mirrors broke at once. The Ghost-busters shouted to take cover. Everyone covered their heads and laid down. Finally, John fell down. Jessica ran to him to see if he was fine.
Although he was bleeding he smiled at his sister and said,”You are so brave!”. Jessica was happy and immediately took John to the hospital. Once they all were out, the mirror maze exploded and disappeared.
