Children Short Story – THE HOUSE OF THE WITCH

ONCE there were four friends James, JOHN, ANNIE and MICHELL. IT was not wrong to say that they were the best friend one would have ever thought about.They all had one interesting hobby,that they used to go in the forests everyday without fail.They never used to fight on little things like people do nowadays.They would always help each other even if they had problems of their own.They all were ready to sacrifice anything for each other because they all had something called love between them.
John who was the eldest used to believe in supernatural things such as witches.But what to do his friends never believed in what he said.They all thought that he was growing mad as he was growing older.But John used to ignore them and believed that one day he will prove that there are things such as witches.
One day as they were walking in the forests John surprisingly found a strangely built house.He at once got the thoughts that this was the house of a witch,which later proved to be right.He called his friends who were half way through the forest.They grumbled the same thing that they used to say which was ”he will never stop believing his stupid stories”.
But as they often used to be together they were forced to go back to John to listen what he was saying.Once they went back they saw John looking through the window as if someone was forcing him to be there at that position.When they all looked through the window they saw a very old lady making something in a big black pot.She was adding some very gruesome ingredients like the tongue of a toad,eye of a newt and a hand of a dead Jew child.All the four friends shrugged at this sight and decided to run away but John decided to stay.She then called her big black cat and asked it to bring the powder called”invisibility powder”.But as the cat was not very clever like human it picked up a charm called”dwarf charm”.The woman not seeing the name poured the whole of it in the pot.This was the time they realised that she was a witch and that John was right.
She asked the spoon to stir and it started stirring surprising the kids.Then the witch drank the whole of it in one gulp.There were some blasts,fireworks and the children bent down to save themselves.When it was all over they raised their heads and saw something which was extremely surprising and it all made them jump and they said”what in the world is that thing”.By now you must have guessed what I am talking about.The witch had transformed into a dwarf.At first the children did not realise what happened,but when they realised it,it made them all laugh like long time ago people laughed at the movies of Charlie Chaplin.They all ran home to tell this to their parents but as you know 99% of the people do not believe their children’s story and think that it is all made up.Their parents also thought the same way and the children were forced to keep the story to themselves.
