Children Short Story – A release from a project in software company

The day from when software industry came into existence, all had witnessed almost a revolution type of thing in India. Its advantages almost ruin off the least disadvantages it has. It had indeed carved the path of more and more jobs. It has given opportunities unexpectedly to visit many places of the world to many. It has even given taste of high income. But afterall in short it is of two types.
One is service based, which accepts projects from different clients and runs and the other is product based which has its own product. But both in ideal scenarios should rotate its employees from one project to another inside it after a certain period of time to just bring in a change in their taste of corporate lives, in terms of work culture, technology and others. A change also good for performing better from their other days’. Also the managers in turn could judge well in which one, the associate proves to be the best and utilise him/her accordingly. But due to some reason or the other these industries most of times lack the capabilities to stick to this ideal practice. As a result many people tend to work in the same project, same technology, same role for days after days and get bored.
So like this Joy, one of Swapnil’s friend was working in a software company. He had worked well and gathered a good feedback from all, in his project. But now he wanted a release from that particular project and move to a different one. But there only the problem lies. Till then when it stays with his promotion, work, appreciation all remains fine, but when it comes to releasing an associate, everything seems to be stopping to work. Similarly this Joy also was facing a lot of troubles in getting this release now for last few months.
He had become now sick and tired of working any more in the same project or even asking for release. The only other option there is to resign this job itself and switch to another company. But for that, cracking the interview of the other company in actual is also required. But then again just for fluke, telling that, got a job and so would resign if not given release, that might even turn opposite, if the manager truely asks him to resign. So this Joy was getting frustrated day by day. So one day he went to the tea shop in the early morning and started waiting for Swapnil to arrive. He knew that surely Swapnil would be having some solution to this.
As and when, as expected, Swapnil arrived, Joy allowed him to order a cup of tea for himself and then without wasting any further time started explaining his issue. Swapnil heard the whole thing and said, “I do understand that there’s something also called stability in a project which depends on how long you are staying in a project. But then again since you also have fulfilled that I guess, by serving for a long time in a single project, I would indeed help you in getting a release from here.” Swapnil then discussed and made the whole plan clear to Joy. Joy also happily went away after hearing the whole plan.
That day itself Joy thought of implementing the plan in his office. As and when he reached, he found his boss has not yet come. He then started waiting for his boss to come. After another half an hour he found his boss entering, he started implementing Swapnil’s plan right away. He quickly took up the receiver in front of him and started talking, as if he was talking to one friend of his. He kept a watch and as he saw his boss came nearer to him, Joy then started telling as if he in actual has not noticed his boss,
“No yaar, I told you no, that I want a release from this project.”
he noticed that his boss hearing this just paused a bit at the back of him. Joy then continued,
“But now I am only telling that I dont want a release anymore. Sorry? Why? you are asking, because now I have got to find something which if I dont tell to all, it would be injustice to all the associates working here. And to do that I should stay in this project. Sorry? You are asking what that is. That is suddenly for last few days I have come to know something bad of our boss from one of his very close friend. So as time progresses I want to let everyone of our project know about that. So now for quite sometime I would remain quiet and not ask for any release. I guess boss in shyness himself would take a release. You know what..ok leave it, cant tell here. Boss might be here anytime” Joy laughed.
The main idea behind this trick was that every personality has a bad thing or other against his name, which he doesnt like anyone else to know except few.
The same thing happened with this boss also. The amount of scare he got that he would have no prestige to stand anymore in front of all, after the incident spreaded, more than that he was scared thinking which incident Joy was about to tell of him and whether that would really accept bad names for him. Also people since are junior to him in this project would not tell him also after getting to know and in mind among themselves only exaggerate and weave more than what in actual has happened, and he not knowing what they had actually come to know about him, would become frustrated.
The boss thought that it is then better to release Joy, so that he would not be able to tell against him anything in other project or even if he tells, noone would care as they wont be knowing this boss. Also Joy would become busy in other project and wont get time to call employees of this project and tell them the bad thing against him or would feel pity on the boss that he had released Joy and so still might refrain from saying, but if not released, he would make that a point that everyone not only knows but have same support with Joy to what Joy thinks, just for a revenge. Also if he leaves this project and still then he continues to tell against the boss, the boss would have some power to convince a member of his team saying, the one, who used to work once in his team, currently got released and working in a different project, is absolutely lying. Or as a precaution just from beforehand, could announce, just after Joy leaves the project, that he had had an exchange of words with Joy and so now he might tell many bad things against him to all, so everyone should ignore.
As decided he then released Joy from the project.
