Though it looks like a dark, deep and haunting forest, it’s full of amazing things…
The grass is fresh, crispy and green with large trees spreading a woody incense, the squirrels are playing in and out of the shady glades. Then came a monkey with a long tail jumping from one tree to other in search of the best fruits in the forest.
The daily routine of the monkey is to reach a tree, find the fresh fruits, eat them and move to the next tree. The monkey is so desperate that it never takes rest from its task. The search is not about the hunger but to stand best among all others.
Even though it tasted every fruit of the forest it never felt satisfied and started blaming itself for not finding the best ones.
Slowly that turned into a depression and the monkey felt hatred towards its life. It felt nothing new…
**
It is mid summer and as usual the monkey went in search of fruits, but it couldn’t find any. The jungle is burning with scorching sunlight and all the rivers and lakes dried up..
The monkey didn’t find even a drop of water. It felt like dying..
As a ray of hope it found an old tree with few fruits hanging on its branches. The monkey jumped over the tree plucked a fruit. At that very moment, it realized the sweet, ripen, mouth watering smell of the fruits. Unable to resist itself the monkey took a big bite. The fruit is so fresh, juicy and delicious. The monkey ate to its heart’s content and then realized that it was the same old tree which he once paid less attention.
The monkey then realized the importance of enjoying the present moment rather than running after future..
In the story the forest depicts our life and the wandering monkey is our heart. Our heart runs behind every attractive thing which finally takes us no where.
So enjoy your present moment and make every situation a delicious fruit…
