CHAPTER 1:
How did I miss Mr. Popular?
College love stories are so dramatic and beautiful in their own way. Just like everyone, I had my own.
It all started during my second year of engineering. I was so fed up of college although it had just been an year that I had been there. Maybe because I had nothing interesting in my life ( love life to be exact). Before I continue with my college story, let me give you an insight of my life before college.
I did my schooling in this amazing international school where students from all over the world studied. Most of the students were the ones who have led a lavish life all along and have been sent here to learn some values in life. This didn’t mean the school was any less luxurious. They had some of the best facilities which included an Olympic size swimming pool, posh dormitories, international cuisines, horse riding and so on.
And yes, the students! They were almost perfect! The girls were the typical mean girls character types (Well, I was one of them! But I’m still a nice person okay? ); beautiful, talented and only liked people of their kind. The boys were no less. Some of them seemed like the dreamy character we drool over in fictional stories. So yes, I dated this amazing guy who happened to be a guitarist, one hell of a footballer, great orator, basically an all rounder. Things were great for an year or so. But well, as my school days came to an end, so did my relationship. Okay, so that was school. I’m sure you all at least have a picture of how great it was.
So yes, second year of college. After having such an amazing crowd back at school, people at college seemed extremely uninteresting. They were all so reserved and honestly, I felt out of place. One evening, as I was lazily scrolling through my facebook profile, I noticed I had a new friend request. I usually either ignore it right away or if the name or the face seems familiar, I accept. I don’t even bother checking the entire profile. But this name was something else. There it was on my screen, a notification saying “Arjun Roy sent you a friend request”.
I was a little curious to know who this person was for two reasons. One, he kind of looked nice. Not some hunk or anything, but yeah, kind of charming. Second, he had the same surname as I did. And he was from my college. So I was keen on knowing who this person was and how I had not noticed him in college. Because, by the look of his profile, over 500 likes on each picture, endless comments, he must have been Mr. Popular. So I decided to accept his request. Little did I know that this name would leave an impression in my life forever.
