[A Lady from the Land of “Bahu”s – Social Short Story]
Hi, this is a story of a friend of mine, a lady, who is fighting for all her needs. She is “Alka” madam, as she is favorably called by her known people.
Comes from a land, where “bahu”s stay in their “gunghat”, from Bihar she belongs to an orthodox brahmin family but as a young girl she got the inspiration to fight for others from her father who was a Navy officer. This fire continued, burning in her heart as years passed she got married but her fight for the women folk never stopped. She runs an NGO in Jharkand, a land of “adhivasi”s where a lady single handed is fighting for their rights and rehabilitating the women of that community as there many women who are pushed into human trafficking and sold as sex slaves. Once Alka ji went all the way to Delhi tracked a girl who was sold there and brought her back in this struggle. She daily faces threats of all types but her unsung heroic deeds still continues. Lets all wish that GOD gives her strength to do more for this people. Alka ji has set an example for the bahus of India to come out and fight for the right.
