[Last Fight – Short Story Social]
HI FRIENDS
Here I am back but with something new. We have heard many times people say that a successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks thrown at him but how far this is possible is not known.
How many of you have experienced it? By three methods we learn wisdom — first by reflection which is noblest, second by imitation which is easiest, and third by experience which is bitterest. But the story I am going to tell you is something very vague.
I have a friend who came into this world 40 years back, kicking and fighting his way out of his mom’s womb, fighting against the all odds. He was liked by his mom but as she was unable to keep the baby because of her in-laws’ objection, he was sent to his maternal grandparents to be brought up. As years passed the child grew to be a young lad and was visited by his parents during holidays. He was a normal and intelligent kid loved by all but during his life he caught up with many bad habits and bad friends that distanced him from his family. Once there was a situation that he even had to experience prison for more than a year. He was started to be hated by all known to him. People felt that he is shame to them. However, years passed and he got married. There was finally one soul in this world who trusted him and gave herself up to him promising to bear everything in life with him.
Very soon there was a lovely baby girl born in the new family. After seeing the child as she started growing, my friend started changing a lot. He left all his unworthy bad deeds and turned a new leaf, started working for his family, living in peace friends. You might think what’s new in this but now the twist started in his life.
Disease struck him unexpectedly one of his kidneys stop working which came as a shock to this family which just started off living life happily. He started taking treatment for it. Doctors advised him to undergo dialysis frequently so the money he earned was being spent on his treatment. He lost his work and the family was almost on the streets but suddenly help came in the form of his parents. They helped him out financially. All was going well when fate struck again and this time in a horrifying form — my dear friend was diagnosed with CHRONIC MYELOID LEUKEMIA, a form of blood cancer. The whole family was in a state of shock.
There are different names for it — FATE, DESTINY, TRAGEDY — whatever so it be, but definitely it was too much for one single person. Every story has a climax before its end — even my friend is fighting, in his climax, before THE END comes in his life, against two villains: kidney problem and cancer. I just advised him to do one thing, “REWIND THE MEMORIES, PLAY THE GOOD TIMES, PAUSE THE DRAMA, STOP THE HURTING AND FAST FORWARD THE BAD TIMES” just like as you do in a CD player what else can I say to a friend struck by fate. I hope my friend reads this. Let’s hope god shows mercy on him.
GOOD BYE FOR NOW.
