My name is Bella. This is my story…
It was just a normal day playing in my backyard with my best friend Jennifer. I had just won a game of one on one when Jennifer got angry. She completely flipped out. Jennifer was screaming at me, then forcefully kicked the ball out into the woods. I was in disbelief that my best friend could do that. So I yelled back at her, “What is wrong with you? Just because you lost does not mean that you have to do that!” I stood there frozen. My fists were gripped together with anger. I took a deep breath; then ran off after the ball into the woods. I decided it was not something to hold against her.
(Bella ran into the woods. She kept passing all the same trees, and smashing all the same leaves beneath her feet. Bella however; traveled so far in that the only thing she could see, was the giant brown trees surrounding her.)
When I could not find the ball I looked up, got dizzy, and started to panic. My body began running every direction possible. When I finally stopped I fell to my knees and aggressively started to shout, “Where am I? Someone help me!” I blacked out…
When I finally came to I felt as if I was farther away. Everything was dark and gloomy. I could not believe what I was seeing! I looked down and there was the ball. It was just innocently sitting there. Maybe the ball had been there the whole time and I just never noticed it. But where was I?
(Bella began to look around and soon found herself by the biggest and beautiful creek, she had ever seen. But this was no ordinary creek…)
I followed the trees and the sound of water to a creek with the most amazing scenery. I started to gaze my eyes among everything and take it all in. There was soft blue water, almost crystal clear. The sounds of the birds were so sweet, as if in a synchronized toon. Suddenly; there was a dark voice that sent shivers down my spine. It whispered so softly but dreadful behind me, “Drink the water…” I began to frantic and shriver with the idea that I was not alone. “Go Away!” I turned around and screamed again, “Leave Me Alone!” I began to scream and weep, “I just want to go home…” With tears running down my face, my heart stopped as the dark and mysterious voice talked again like nothing but a whisper of thin air. . “It’s okay, drink the water it will help you go home.”
Bella was frozen in time, she couldn’t move, for the voice had full control over her mind. As she stood by the creek and looked at her reflection ripple through the current. Her blue eyes caught her attention, then suddenly a dark shadow passed behind her. She spun around quickly only to realize there was no one there. Before she knew it the day became night and with what little light she had left she began to follow it.
“I just want to go home! I don’t want to drink the water!” I screamed at the whisper with all my might; but I got nothing in return. I started to walk down the creek following the warmth of the light hoping I would find my way out before night. “Drink the water..” The whisper kept following me and would not shut up. I felt trapped in these woods all alone. I cried and fell to the ground. “If you’re really there, if anyone is there, please just help me!” I sat by the water pondering should I drink it or not?
After feeling what little warmth of the sun slowly go down between the cracks of the trees. I stood up, looked around, took a deep breath, and walked into the creek. It was so cold my body tensed up when it reached my knees. I took a second and puffed out some air. “Am I really going to do this?” I kept questioning myself. Looking at my reflection against the current flow. I decided to take a drink. When I looked up I gazed around searching for that voice. With what words could crackle out of me in fear I spoke, “Can I go home now? I drank the water..”
The air was dead silent, nothing could be heard but the water from the creek. Suddenly Bella heard some leaves crinkle behind her. They got louder and louder as if someone was coming closer to her. She yelled out at them and asked if anyone was there. Then dead silence, everything was completely iced over and frozen solid. Her body was trapped in the water. She screamed for dear life, “Help!”
The sun went down completely and my body was stuck in the water. I began to hear a little girl laugh and the wind picked up so fast I had to cover my face from all the dirt and leaves. The laugh turned into a scream and was pounding into my ears. Then everything stopped. I looked up into the dark, “Jennifer, is that you? Please help me!” The shadow came closer, it was darker than the black night itself. It disappeared and reappeared behind me grabbing my body, “You shouldn’t of drank the water!”
Bella vanished into the dark mist of the deep woods night. As the sun came up the next day, only the faded whisper of a little girl’s laughter could be heard.
