What I am about to tell you is…unbelievable, and maybe even a bit crazy…but it is true. I was never a believer in the supernatural or even karma, until I met ‘it.’ I can’t explain what ‘it’ is, but I can tell you its name, passed down through the centuries, it is named, The Infelicitas.
My name isn’t important, what is important is that I inform you, and warn you about this deadly and clever beast, that lurks around every corner, waiting to unleash its terrifying weapon. Bad luck.
The first I saw of this dangerous creature, was when I was walking down a weedy, cracked, and uneven sidewalk, heading back home to rest after a rough day of school, which included many annoying bullies, and boring classes. I had my head down, and was daydreaming of what, I don’t remember, but I was startled out of my dreams by a distinct groan of the wind. Wind is not supposed to groan, wind makes no sound, so I knew immediately that something was off.
I turned first to my left, and seeing nothing out of the ordinary, I then turned to my right, and I froze in my tracks, eyes locked onto a mysterious figure in between two houses. At first it looked only like a mass of black goo, but then it formed the shape of a very large dog, maybe a German Shepard. I continued to stare and I quickly realized…it’s eyes were glowing red fire, and they seemed to penetrate my very being, causing a feeling of dread to creep through my entire body. I blinked once and it was gone.
If only I had heeded that warning, maybe what happened next would never have come to pass. I was followed by the feeling of dread during the entire next week, which again, I ignored. The following week was when everything went to hell, literally.
The only indication that something was wrong, was the now familiar feeling of dread, but then, it was growing. I felt helpless to stop it, and I began to panic, in the middle of a superstore, of all places. When the panic attack subsided, I found myself surrounded by concerned customers, and I waved them off, assuring them I was fine…but I knew something was off. Only a few hours later, I found out that my loving parents, the ones who raised and taught me everything I knew, were dead, murdered because of a burglary gone wrong. But what surprised me even further, was the fact that my panic attack, happened at the exact same time as the murder.
At first I waved it off as a coincidence, but as time went on, the timed panic attacks, and bad events, came more often and I could no longer wave it off as a coincidence. The next attack, happened just as suddenly as the first. I once again found it hard to breath, my chest felt like it was being crushed, and my mind falling apart. As I was choking and wheezing, I once again saw the Infelicitas, and I was shocked, did this creature have something to do with my misfortune?
This time it was my twin brother who died…in a strange swimming accident, a boat hit him, at 75 miles per hour, literally ripping him into ribbons. I was once again gripped by grief and fury at the people who had taken my brother from me. But I quickly found myself thinking back to my sighting of the Infelicitas, and the strange events surrounding it.
I can’t go into detail of every single even that’s happened since that fateful day, but ever since, my life has been a mess of strange coincidences, and death…so much death. I can no longer get close to anyone, in fear of them being the next to die because of my attachment to this demon.
I am leaving this note to warn people of this strange and elusive demon, it will stop at nothing to tear your life apart, it will bring doom and destruction to all that see it. It may be too late for me…I fear that I am next, I fear that the next time I see the Infelicitas, it will mean my death.
