Was 'the unfortunate commentator' worthy being the Editor's Choice?

It nothing sort of a personal deal, but do you all really think that the story was worthy being the Editor’s Choice?
I mean it was nice and portrayed the emotions, but I didn’t find coming the emotion coming out loud and clear. I agree that the story needed to ended silently, but I thought the emotion was fading every now and then.
