Life has ups and life has downs,
But that can’t be the reason for us to wear frowns.
Time goes on and waits for none,
All that is left is to move on.
Tears are available in plenty,
But what matters is that we choose to be happy.
Life is made of both sorrow and joy,
In equal amounts – like some alloys.
It’s up to us, and what we want,
Whether to remain smiling or serious and gaunt.
Crying and weeping don’t help in anyway,
And I don’t know how better to explain.
No matter what, we can’t rewind,
For there are new happy things to find.
We must be strong to move on,
And never stop shining like the sun.
We should put our energy into doing something good,
And try to stay in a happy mood.
It will be difficult and oh-so tough,
But that’s how we’ll know what we’re made of.
We should focus on a new beginning,
And try to be someone who’s mostly grinning.
Yes, there’ll be times when we must let it all out,
But we shouldn’t always be showcasing a pout.
Get up, get out and keep your mind occupied,
And know that the bonds of love will never get untied.
Mourning isn’t the only answer,
Let’s remember good times with cheerful banter.
Cherish the moments that made you happy,
And forget the ones that were utterly crappy.
Don’t be sad coz it’s over, be thankful that it happened,
Because no one should be like this – so saddened.
All things shall pass and this will too,
Though obviously not now and maybe not any time soon.
Slowly, steadily, life will go on,
So we should keep our chin up and move on.
Keeping in our hearts what we hold dear,
Always trusting that they’ll be near.
For life can’t only be cheerful, but neither is it only sad,
It’s a mixture of both and for that, we should be glad.
