1) Save the Ignominy

“Save the ignominy lest life breaks you down,
In a pool of shame its choices drown;
Surrender that defying countenance,
Or be sold amok: not a guinea but half pence.
Roaring frown but turns to a snarl,
Downward hanging, forced to crawl!”

“Oh thee! Just how you fathom such a plea?
We’ve drudged and plodded like a flea!
Glib promises sold with vile pretence,
Now lie tethered in grim, ever and hence;
Oh how you cloyed treacle-like, purged
into solemn lives with parasitic grudge!”

Thus spake a master to his slave,
and the snivelling vassal so replied.
Rested yet rendered niggardly,
the slave clenched his teeth and cried.

“Well now that you have shed a tear,
Scowled like a fool, let out a sneer;
Be well prepared at the strike of dawn,
to be led out dragging like a hunted fawn!
And thrown amid macabre flooded heath,
Where lusty scavenger your flesh shall eat!”

“Well now since my fate is sealed,
your morbid truth hath done me healed;
Sleaze and venom flow under you skin,
the punitive Lord shall bury you with ye sin!
‘If thou Oh Lord have foreordained,
the fate of all, their loss and gain,
Then show thy fairness is all I plead!'”

In fret and fury the Master whip-lashed,
A sudden thud!.. the planchement collapsed;
Caught buried under a voice then cried,
Save the Ignominy “Run and Hide!”

2) Under a passing shade

Red branches of autumn wither,
whose spirits it shall stir;
And blurs the undulating sight,
with a moment from the end of this flight!

Winter crawls beneath ye feet,
through dreaded shiver your fate shall meet;
A slaughter of all yous want or desire,
ridden shall be ye with gloomy ire!

Sounds of a life withered away,
fade into the oblivion,drift and sway;
Of all the relenting faith you mocked,
left were you hidden away and locked!

Not a soul did ye ignite,
scoffed at reason and its might;
Lest the power of love reign ye heart,
the love for power tore you apart!

But as with every spring that’s past,
the weary struggle ends at last;
Staves of the sullen acrimony,
with quaintness of unfamiliar harmony!

And when the summer night arrives,
on a stubborn heart your pride shall thrive;
For when again the autumn falls,
Life turns grey and End befalls!

Under a passing shade our life ends;
and on that death life depends!
