“Jimmy you’re going to be late for school!”
Jimmy lived in New Jersey. He went to Jersey Oak Elementary school.
“Jim do you hear me?”
“(Aw) coming Mom.”
“Stop yawning and brush your teeth.”
Jimmy slowly got up and went to the bathroom, suddenly… “Mom! My tooth wiggled!”
“Wow your first loose tooth!”
“I know let’s tell Dad!” Jim exclaimed.
Later that day in school:
“Hey Ben see my loose tooth?”
“Yeah, cool, just join the club! Everyone has lost at least one tooth.”
“Great! I bet I’m going to lose this one pretty soon” said Jim.
“But, that is when” he thought.
‘When’ wasn’t long for a wait… at recess that day his friends were playing tag with him. Jimmy was only wearing socks. The person who was tag was right behind him. Suddenly, Jim stepped on something!
THERE WAS HIS TOOTH JUST UNDERNEATH HIS FOOT!!!
“I caught you” said tag.
“Wait, this is my tooth!”
“Wow, give it to the tooth-fairy!” said tag.
“The tooth-fairy?” asked Jim.
“You don’t know the tooth-fairy?”
“NO” was the reply.
“Well ask the teacher, you’re tag now! Catch me, try and catch me”.
“What?” thought Jim, as the bell rang for the end of recess.
“Mom! I’m home! I lost my tooth in school today! The teacher told me that the tooth-fairy will take my tooth and in return give me money!”
“It’s true Jim, just keep your tooth under your pillow when you go to sleep tonight” said his mom.
‘But- but why does the tooth-fairy need children’s teeth?’ He thought, ‘tonight I’ll keep watch!’
That night:
“Wait, stop! Mrs. Tooth-fairy, stop please! I won’t harm you! Listen, Mrs. Tooth-Fairy! Wait please! I’m Jimmy! Please, please wait! Stop! It’s my tooth! Listen I want to ask you something! Stop! Wait! Please!… Mrs. Tooth-Fairy?? D-d-don’t go-o. Mrs. Tooth-Fairy??!”
Out of fear the tooth-fairy had left. Jimmy was happy that he got money but terribly sad ‘cause he hadn’t got a reply to his question. Sadly Jimmy went back to bed.
A few weeks later Jim lost another tooth!
‘I’ll write a note to the tooth-fairy this time!’ he thought.
It said-
Dear Mrs. Tooth-Fairy,
I’ve hidden my tooth.
You must ask me to get up,
and then I’ll ask you a question.
Tell me the answer then,
I’ll give my tooth.
JIMMY
That night:
“(AH) Jimmy do get up, I’ll be on my way then. Do get up! Jiiiiimmy!!” called the tooth-fairy after reading the note.
“(YAWN). What?… Mrs. Tooth-Fairy!”
“Yes Jim.”
“Mrs. Tooth-Fairy why do you need my tooth?”
The tooth-fairy was stunned. Then: “Jim, it’s hard to explain… I’ll have to show it you” Said the tooth-fairy.
“That’s great! Show me fast! There’s my tooth! Near the lamp on the side-table” cried Jim.
The tooth-fairy grabbed the tooth and waved her wand, in a flash they were standing in Fairyland!
“Mrs. Tooth-Fairy, am I dreaming?”
“No Jim”
“Mrs. Tooth-Fairy, this is…this is… amazing!” said Jim in a whisper. “But-but why do you need my tooth?”
“Well Jim, do you see that huge white machine over there?” She pointed to the center of Fairyland, where fairies were busy putting something in a basket.
“Why yes, I do Mrs. Tooth-fairy.”
“Well Jim, when we take your tooth, we put it in that machine, then the machine polishes the tooth and we fairies put it on a six month old baby! So ask your friends, if their baby brother or sister grew their first or second tooth! You’ll be surprised! Bye for now, Jim.” cried the tooth-fairy.
In a flick of her wand Jimmy was standing in his bedroom; and the tooth-fairy? Well the tooth-fairy had vanished. Jimmy couldn’t believe what had happened, so he went back to sleep.
In the morning:
“Wake up Jim! Take the phone… its Ben, he wants to talk to you about something important.” said Jim’s mom.
“Yeah, yeah, give the phone to m-(YAWN) me”.
“Jim, guess what!” said Ben.
“What?”
“You know my sister Annie right?”
“Right.”
“Annie grew her very first tooth last night!”
Jimmy had seen the time when he came back from Fairyland- it was midnight.
“At midnight?”
“Yes Jim! Yes! How did you know?”
“Lucky guess!”
“Great! Well, see you at school today!” (click) The phone was turned off.
Jimmy was speechless.
You know what the tooth-fairy said. Don’t you?
Well so does Jimmy!
“Jimmy, go and brush your teeth!”
“Yes mom!”
