Dark, utterly dark
Finally after some efforts, I was able to open my eyes a little; first thing I saw was a fat lady in ‘Ujala’ white uniform with a writing pad in her hand, making some notes looking at the bunch of medicines on the iron table nearby. I turned my face other side and was relieved to see a familiar face, Sharvari –‘Zuzu’ was sleeping in a chair stretching her legs on the table in front of her, I guess she hadn’t slept whole night, since I was unconscious. I was able to hear voice of Samarth and Nirang outside the room.
“Good Job done Advik, the Mission was successful, Saxena and ten other people were killed in the encounter and others were arrested. “ I was busy glaring at the sleeping zuzu as Nirang and Samarth entered the room.
“Don’t worry, your name is not disclosed anywhere looking at your personal security. But I have advised Commissioner to recommend your name for the Bravery Award; it indeed was brave act from your side.” Samarth said in his typical ATS ACP style.
“Thank you.” I said as both of them left wishing me quicker recovery, Sharvari also woke up listening to our conversation. She just stood up from her place and embraced me in the tight hug; she wasn’t in any frame of mind to talk, neither was I.
In last two and half months or so my life had went upside down, I still was feeling that it was some dream, I will just open my eyes and my life will be back at normal; I would be back to Ahmedabad living normal life. But no, it wasn’t any dream, it was a nightmare; that came and thread bared my life. That’s the reason why it’s very well said by someone; Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans. At the end of all, I was happy to be alive.
I was alive.
